APAC offers free seminar for Arkansas military vendors

MALVERN, Ark. − The Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center (APAC) is offering a free all-day seminar to Arkansas military vendors on Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), a paperless shipping system, says Sue Coates, APAC program director.

APAC is a program at the Cooperative Extension Service, which is a part of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. The program helps Arkansas businesses by providing training and resources to secure government contracts and boost revenues.

The seminar will be offered twice at the Center's training facility in Malvern on June 11 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance registration is required.

Jerry Wheelwright, a former site manager with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), will lead the seminar, says Coates. "He has taught both government and vendors on the aspects of utilizing WAWF, and his expertise in this area is extensive," she says. Wainwright has more than 40 years' experience in the financial arena.

Each daylong seminar will cover the following:

  • Creating stand-alone invoices, combo documents, two-in-one invoices, and receiving reports with UID, a bar-coding labeling system.

  • Document work on research, recall, and editing; downloading and attaching documents; and how to void a document, if necessary

  • WAWF, Electronic Document Access (EDA), and My Invoice.

Classrooms are equipped with computers and a detailed workbook, says Coates. Attendees will receive a survey form to fill out and submit online when they register, along with instructions for bringing company information necessary for the seminar.

For more information on APAC, visit http://www.arcommunities.org/apac.htm or call (501) 337-5355. Registration for each WAWF seminar is listed on the What's Happening page under the June 11 and 12 dates. Class size is limited to 15.
