Anne R. Sortor was appointed Assistant Director - Family and Consumer Sciences on August 1, 2007. She joined the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service after serving 11 years with The University of Tennessee Cooperative Extension. She is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Sortor earned a B.S. in Home Economics Education from South Carolina State University, M.Ed. from Clemson University in Agricultural Education and a doctorate in Human Ecology with an emphasis in Human Resource Development at The University of Tennessee. Dr. Sortor's began her Extension career in October of 1977. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service she held the following positions with the Extension System:
Dr. Sortor was founder and Executive Director for the Laurens County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition (Laurens, South Carolina). She served as the Executive Director for eight years. Sortor currently resides in Sherwood, Arkansas . |
