Dr. Mike French was appointed Associate Director – Agriculture and Natural Resources on May 17, 1993 and became Associate Director – Programs on August 1, 2005. He joined the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service after serving 15 years with The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service. He is a native of Lake Providence, Louisiana where he grew up on a cotton, soybean and wheat farm. Dr. French earned his B.S. degree in Agronomy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1973 and M.S. and PhD. degrees in Agronomy - Weed Science from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and 1978. His professional career after completing the PhD. consists of the following: • Extension Agronomist - Weed Science Specialist and Assistant Professor, The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service, Tifton, Georgia • Extension Agronomist - Weed Science Specialist and Associate Professor, The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service, Athens, Georgia • Head and Professor, Extension Agronomy Department, The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service, Athens, Georgia • Associate Director, University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas Dr. French, his wife Nona, and their three children reside in Conway, Arkansas. |
